In 2006 James started out like most other competitors do. His 1999 Honda Civic Ex was a fairly decent ride but it was lacking in the stereo department. He called around to a few of his buddies looking to see if they had any equipment he could buy. Luckily James was able to find a couple older Kicker comp VR 12’s and a 500w mono block MTX amp. Once he had installed the system James had heard rumors about a car audio show being held at a local shop. This is where James met Steve and Adam for the first time. After coming in 3rd place with a score of 137.3db in his first DBDrag event he was hooked. This event lead Steve, Adam and James to becoming close friends and teaching James what the sport was all about.

By the beginning of the summer portion of the 2007 season James had switched his setup several times from the old Comp VR days. He was now running an almost complete SoundStream setup consisting of 2 T5 12” woofers and 2 Picasso PCA 2000d amplifiers in a custom ported box built by Steve. James decided (with a push from Steve) that local shows just weren’t enough and decided to venture deeper into the circuits where he was first introduced to their other team mate, Mike Lutz. Competing in multiple DBDrag and MECA events all over the northeast region of the U.S. James was able to do the minimum number of MECA shows and received 1st place in his class at every event attended making for an undefeated rookie season of 5 and 0. This was also the year James became an official member of Team Prodigy and won his first world championship in MECA’s amateur street 2 class with a score of 146.7db at the driver’s side headrest.

After taking a couple years off to regroup and prepare for a new build in a new vehicle James has been taking the DBDrag Circuit by storm this 2010 season with the help of his Prodigy teammates and his sponsor, Soundstream. James now competes in the Super Street 1-2 class in his 2003 Chevy Blazer Xtreme. He is knocking on the door of 160db with a score of 159.9db in DBDrag and BassRacing the 120 – 129.9 class. The Blazer is currently equipped with 2 15” SoundStream XXX subwoofers and 4 SoundStream XXX 4000d amplifiers all powered by 11 Kinetik HC16v 16v batteries. This setup has not seen a placing lower than 2nd in any DBDrag event attended so far this year. James has also made the eliminations bracket in every event he has BassRaced at thus far this season with more 1st place finishes than not and looking for more. James is hoping to go to World Finals and possibly bring home a regional, national or world championship in DBDrag and Bassrace this season.
